Kapok trees abound in Kakadu and are refugees from the irainforests 15 million years ago. At right, the view from the top of the escarpment known as the Giant's Staircase is spectacular.

 

Tours of the Yellow Water wetlands are available in these boats which afford an excellent view of the wildlife and general scenery. You might see anything from saltwater crocodiles to flights of geese.
